Sample Case Study: Salvaging a failing DM business
Problem – Rapidly-diminishing performance from an existing, albeit small ad/marketing program.
Solution/Topline Tactics – We were the key three players hired to design, construct, and implement the turnaround strategy required to salvage the faltering Direct advertising/marketing division.
- Scrapped and re-launched the entire media/creative/offer strategy used by the Direct division, down to the individual line item detail.
- Initiated a new buying strategy based on front-end pricing/response metrics, coupled with developing a backend Lifetime Value Analysis Model.
- Developed winning ad creative, with a problem/solution orientation, and a solid offer strategy that was carried through all media forms (magazines, newspaper, short-form TV, infomercials, local/national personality radio, Direct Mail, package inserts, web, etc.)
Result – Aggressively built the media budget, through utilization of a multi-media approach to $105million, while achieving stringent corporate targets on Cost per Inquiry, Cost per Order, and Media % of Sales, year-over-year.
